Brockley

The Brockley academy offers actor training for ages 5 - 18 over 5 different classes on 2 separate nights at Telegraph Hill Centre in South East London.

Please enquire about ages and appropriate groups. Division of groups by age is not an exact science at HAYA and is based on the individual needs and the demographic demands at the time.

You will be taught the craft of acting

  • Voice and Speech
  • Movement
  • Acting for screen / Naturalism
  • Theatre performance skills
  • Stage Combat
  • Devising and Theatre Making
  • Accent and Dialect
  • Improvisation
  • Character development
  • LAMDA 1:1

Each year our young actors are given the opportunity to show off their acquired skills in an actors showcase / performance - traditionally this is performed at a local theatre or as part of a wider festival.

Every actor at HAYA is offered a place on our agency books. This is purely optional and does not affect or impact upon the training and enjoyment of the workshops should you decide not to join.

Actors who join the agency will be seen regularly for professional work in Film, TV, commercials and theatre through castings and auditions with some of the industry’s leading casting directors.

Testimonials

“Sarah and her staff are the smartest and most knowledgeable acting teachers and mentors I have met. Their coaching and teaching come from a wealth of professional experience. I’ve been attending HAYA since 2019 and ever since my acting confidence and social skills have grown an unbelievable amount. Working with Sarah is honestly the best as she creates a safe environment for us actors to work in so we can produce the best work we can for ourselves. I’d highly recommend HAYA to any aspiring actors out there.” - Kwabena Peprah - 17

“Sarah Hunt and all the HAYA family have been working for my child for 6 years. They are incredibly child focused, enabling a high level of skill-based training in a nurturing environment.” - Kate McMillan-Hunt (parent)

“HAYA is the best place to enable creative thinking, teamwork and confidence in children. Drama teaches our children how to communicate, speak up with confidence and embrace individuality. HAYA and the curate teachers have the passion, expertise and ability to bring the best out of their students. They are ambitious for our children and my daughter has loved it” - Kate Fargher (parent)

“My daughter started at HAYA during the first lockdown when it provided a creative haven from the pandemic. It was the first time she was able to explore acting for camera (rather than musical theatre) and her acting (and directorial skills really matured as a result. Being rather industry-naive, we were initially concerned about signing up to the agency and booking jobs but we needn’t have worried as Sarah was supportive, attentive and informative throughout the audition and filming of a rather complicated shoot - we’ve been continually impressed with how she always has the child’s best interests at heart and how much she really, really, knows what she’s doing. Thanks HAYA!” - Seeta Seetharaman (parent)
